What It Is and What It’s For
Don't give up. Don't collapse under this weight; it has to lift at some point. Keep thinking and don't smother it. Be alone with yourself and be in conversation with your friends again. Don't take perverse pride in being isolated. Come out of this. Allow yourself to come out of this. It is dark, but you can touch the light. Come on, man. You are better than surrender. It is harder now, sure, but you're allowing it to be harder, with less resistance than ever before. This is not who you are. Remember who you are. Emerge, you coward. Otherwise, it dies forever.
I had been giving myself this pep talk, in some form, for about five years prior to starting (and publishing) this site. Now it’s done, and I can finally stop talking about it. This is a repository of my writing, in whatever form it takes, and whether anyone reads any of it is beside the point.
It has to be done, and I’m doing it. If you can relate, have a look.
